What moving documents should I keep?
Know which documents to read and retain for an interstate move.
Read before signing
For an interstate move, review the written estimate, order for service, bill of lading and inventory. Check company details, addresses, dates, services and payment terms. Do not sign blank or incomplete documents. Requirements for in-state moves can differ.
Keep a clear record
Keep signed copies, receipts and written communications together. Review the inventory and any condition notes with the crew and raise discrepancies promptly. Keep these records with you rather than packing them into the shipment.
